Bad Andy Picks the Horses

Bad Andy is iSportacus’s degenerate gambler friend (that’s him to the left enjoying a mint julep at the Derby), and has won the first two months of Streak for the Cash by betting on every conceivable sporting event that ESPN.com threw out there. He spends hundreds of hours pouring over statistics in the hopes of winning a $40 gift certificate. As such, we asked him to handicap tomorrow’s Kentucky Derby. Here are his thoughts:
A brief intro for those who don’t know me. I spent the better part of 10 years living in Cincinnati, OH. That’s not too far from Kentucky, think Philly to Camden. I’ve been to my fair share of horse races so I feel qualified to give my opinion on the subject.* I’ve chosen six out of the 20 horses that I feel can make a Run for the Roses. I will offer no real argument for these horses and am encouraging readers to follow my lead and go to 17th and Market but if you are…I love these horses.**
Dunkirk opening at 4-1 odds and running out of the 15th gate.
Pioneer of the Nile again at 4-1 and next door at 16.
General Quarters at 20-1 odds coming out of 12.
The three others to consider are the favorite I Want Revenge (3-1), Desert Party (15-1), and Hold Me Back (15-1).
I give the biggest disadvantage to Desert Party coming from the outside (19) to get into the race. All in all I expect one of the best Derby’s in recent memory with all the best horses packed towards the middle. The pace should be fast and it will come down to whatever horse finishes first doesn’t stand a chance at a Triple Crown. I just want to throw that out there because I can’t stand all the chatter about it the moment the race is over.
*Not really.
**iSportacus does not endorse the opinions of it’s author, and as a family oriented site, does not endorse horse racing in the slightest.

nice edit, thank you, but I can’t believe you left out my goat race pick. What time does the bus leave again?
