They Hate Us

In yet another example of the media hating Philly, espn.com ran an article today about the alleged spit ball thrown by Mariano Rivera yesterday against the Angels. Except in the article he was playing against the Phillies. The last paragraph read “beside the fact that 45,000 people were in the stands, two umpires were within view and a Phillies runner was on second base…”
By the time you click on the link to the article they will probably already have corrected this glaring freudian mistake. Clearly espn.com news services immediately thinks of the Phillies when anything is amiss and despite the fact the Yankees were playing the Angels in this game with all Philadelphia baserunners several thousand miles away, the first impulse when impropriety is about is to insert something Philadelphia.
The media hates us, even on an unconscious level. I will be watching this trend and will speak truth to power during this postseason so as to not allow the senseless bigotry that permeates the national media to go unnoticed. They tried to keep us down last year and it didn’t work (largely because of my efforts). I intend to see the same result through this year.
