Cole Train Derailed
Posted by Johnny Goodtimes on November 1st, 2009
The postseason woes of Cole Hamels (hopefully) came to a painful end last night, as he fell to pieces in the 4th inning and was removed from the game to a fair amount of boos. Hamels has been a complete trainwreck in the last few weeks. In his last 7 starts, he is 1-4 with an 8.11 ERA. The Phillies simply CANNOT let him throw again if this thing goes 7 games. Cole Hamels, who a year ago tonight was the toast of the town, is now the biggest liability on the Phils 25 man World Series roster. The questions is, “What caused this dramatic fall from grace?” Was it the Verducci effect? Or has Hamels just become mentally weak? Regardless, all of Philadelphia is hoping that, if this Series goes 7 games, JA Happ is on the hill for Game 7.

There’s an article on Yahoo Sports about the poster child of pouting. Cole Hamels reportedly can’t wait for the series to be over because of his absolutely abyssmal season. Once again, it’s all about Cole. No concern for the team, just him. It’s time the Phillies cut their losses and ship this whiner to baseball hell…maybe Cleveland? Rich Dubee could probably pitch better.

I gotta hand it to you JGT…after watching game 2 at the Vous, you said that the Phils should have left Hamels off their roster…you seem to have been correct in that estimation…
