The Good Luck Shirt Comes Out of Retirement

Posted by Johnny Goodtimes on November 2nd, 2009

GetAttachment.aspxI wore this shirt throughout the last two rounds of the 2008 playoffs, electing not to wear it in Game 3 of the NLCS and Game 2 of the World Series because I hadn’t felt good about either game. Needless to say, this shirt packs some pretty serious mojo. So much, in fact, that I figured that out of respect for its power, I should retire the shirt and not take a chance of angering the baseball gods by being greedy. Therefore, it has sat in a drawer, untouched, for about 370 days. But desperate times call for desperate measures, and after much soul searching, I have decided to bring the shirt out of retirement. Does it have the same mojo it had in 2008? There is only one way to find out. And baseball gods, if you are reading this, please understand that I am doing this not out of greed but out of a deep and abiding love of the local 9. I hope I can be forgiven, and please give this thing three more nights of magic. After that, I promise to retire it for good. And I mean it this time.

This shirt deserves a shadow box, not a drawer space. Go Phils.
