Iverson News

ESPN is reporting that AI could be in a Sixers uniform as early as Monday night.
One source said that the team has already made tentative plans to send assistant coach and former Iverson teammate Aaron McKie home from the Sixers’ current road trip to meet Iverson in Philadelphia later this week and work him out to ensure Iverson’s readiness for the Denver game.
Our good friends over at Sixers for Guidos line up the pros and cons of resigning Iverson. Among the reasons to sign him is that he would have the perfect forum to prove that he can still play at a high level: He would want to prove his critics wrong, in a town that made him feel happy and beloved for more than a decade: the perfect situation for a turnaround. I think the large majority of fans would welcome him, the arousing standing ovation he got in his first game as an opponent is an evidence of that sentiment.
Among the cons: Iverson would take (a lot of) minutes from guys than need to play in order to get better. Think Holiday now, of course, but also Lou Williams when he’ll return.
One reason AI may want to sign here? According to the700level, he could move right back into his house in Nova that he was unable to sell when the market tanked.
