Andrea Kremer is Hilariously Bad

There are few things that get my blood boiling more than a “sideline reporter”. Like a tank top on an elephant, they are extraneous, ridiculous, and completely unnecessary. Reporters are supposed to ask questions, but sideline reporters just make statements when they interview coaches and players (“Tough first half coach.”) and then expect them to respond. The only one I ever liked was Eric Dickerson, and that’s only because he was so bad he was good. While I have a special hate for Tony Siragusa, (“They’re really going at it down here, Moose”) and the 6 interchangeable fairly attractive women who all look and sound the same, Andrea Kremer has long been the worst sideline reporter in football. I distinctly remember the stupidest question she ever asked. It was right after the 1995 AFC Championship game between the Colts and the Steelers. On the last play of the game, Jim Harbaugh threw a hail mary pass that Colts receiver Aaron Bailey had in his hands and dropped. Kremers question? “Aaron, what would you have done differently on that last play?” Bailey looked at her quizzically and then answered, “I would have caught the ball.”
Which leads us to last night. Not surprisingly, the Eagles that were selected to speak were Donovan and DeSean Jackson. The Donovan interview was plenty awkward, but still didn’t even compare to Kremer’s astounding, non-sensical opening question to DeSean. Here it is, word by word. “You had the concussion last week, you missed the game, what kind of confidence did you have to come into this game, especially to continue to be this big play machine?” WHAT?!?! What is the f***ing question? Is it about the concussion, missing the game, about his confidence, or about being a big play machine? IT’S NOT THAT HARD TO ASK A QUESTION. You’ve had all game sitting there doing nothing, and this is the best you could come up with. How does she still have a job? Why does this stuff drive me crazy?
I suppose I should just laugh at it. Such as her epic interview with Tom Brady (above) in which she clearly came onto him. Ever since, she has ben fantasizing about what a date with Brady would be like.
